Rules & Regulations
1. The Competition is open to musicians worldwide and of all nationalities.
2. Application deadline is 30 April 2019. (Extended to 11 May 2019)
3. Competitors should select one of the Divisions to participate in:
Stage Time: The jury will time your performance from the first note of the first piece to the final dying away of the last note of the last piece.
4. Repertoire Guidelines:

All pieces must be played from memory; failure to do so will result in a 5% reduction from the final mark;

Competitors must submit 3 bound copies of their choice music to be used during the adjudication. All music posted must be clearly labelled with the competitor’s full name and category competing in. Competitors should adhere to all copyright’s regulations;

Competitors must not exceed the stated time limit (according to the category applied for) stage presence time;

The Organizers reserve the right to impose a penalty of 5% deduction on the final marks if any of the rules are not adhered to;

All copies of sheet music will be destroyed and not returned to the Competitor at the end of the Competition
5. Competitors are not allowed to meet up with adjudicators during the course of the competition. Non-compliance will result in the competitor being removed from the Competition and forfeiting all awards and cash prizes.
6. The order of appearance in the Competition is decided in draw sessions prior to the Competition. The order decided at these sessions will be observed throughout the Competition. The Organizers reserve the right to make changes or cancellations to the competition order and dates, as well as any of the events that happen throughout the Competition.
7. The organizers reserve the right to record all the proceedings of the Competition and related activities for sales, broadcast and promotional purposes without the consent of the participant nor will any payment be made to the participant. The organizers retain all rights to the recorded materials.
8. Unauthorized photography, video and audio recordings are NOT allowed during the Competition. The organizers reserve the right to delete any unauthorised recordings and may request offenders to leave the competition venue.
9. Competitors who require practice studios should contact Rave Group Int’l Pte Ltd to arrange for hiring at their own expense.
10. The competitor’s submission of his/her Competition application will be tantamount to the applicant’s acceptance of the Rules.
11. The decisions of the organizers and judges are final and not subject to questions, discussions, reviews or appeals.
12. The jury reserves the right to withhold prizes at their artistic discretion.
Prizes & Awards

Adjudicators will evaluate each competitor based on a 100-point scale and the final score will be averaged, up to 2 decimal points.

All successful applicants will receive a Certificate of Performance based on marks scored.
Gold: 90% and above
Silver: 80% - 89.99%
Bronze: 65% - 79.99%
Participation: 64.99% and below

The top five scores in each Category will be automatically placed in the Finals where they will compete for cash prizes.

The First Prize winner of the Category A will receive a performance opportunity in the NAFA School of Music’s Concert Series, to be scheduled in the 2019-2020 Academic Year.

The organisers reserve the rights to revoke all awards and cash prizes of competitors who breach the rules and regulations of the Competition.
Video Submission
Video Submission Guidelines
1. All Solo Categories (Piano)

All applicants must submit a video for a screening round before the live semi-final rounds in Singapore.

The programme for the video submission must be part of the competition programme and must include the set piece.

The video recording should be a clear and accurate representation of the applicant’s playing.

The video must clearly show the competitor's upper torso (including the face) and the right side of his/her whole figure; filmed with one camera without cuts during the performance of each piece.

Video must not be recorded more than six months prior to submission.
2. Submission format

You may upload your video at YouTube, Youku, Vimeo, or other online video and streaming service platforms and share the links with us.

Alternatively, you may send in DVDs or thumb drives.

All materials submitted will not be returned.
3. Acceptable video file types include MP4, MPG, MOV (commonly from iMovie), AVI (from Windows Movie Maker), WMV (from Windows Live Movie Maker)
4. Video requirements

High definition: 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080 preferred or standard definition: 720 x 480 acceptable

No modification or editing should be made to the video and audio (e.g. effects).
